Food Lion trip

I'm a little bummed...I really thought I would make out great at Food Lion with the tripling this week. But unfortunately, all the coupons that I had that were able to triple were not on sale! But I did do ok...I saved more than I spent, which is now normal so I wanted to be extraordinary, but that didn't happen. The gentleman in front of me(yes,I said gentleman) had $65 in groceries and spent less than $3!! His wife went through earlier and she had around $70 in groceries and spent less than $5!! I was so envious!! But here is what I got.....

  • 3 Ziplock Freezer bags(different sizes)($1.89 each also got a $2 off catalina when checking out)

  • 1 Glad freezer bags($2.64)(I was kinda in need of freezer bags...could have done better if I waited for a sale)

  • 1 Huggies wipes refill($5.24)

  • 1 Hormel Compleats(FREE + overage of $0.25)

  • 1 Jimmy Dean breakfast entrees($0.25)

  • 1 Colgate kids toothpaste($0.24)

  • 2 Gerber snack foods($1.51 each)(thanks for this coupon, Kristine!)

  • 3 Yoplait trix yogurt($1.49 each)(not on sale but kids have been begging for this)

  • 1 poptarts($0.35)

  • 1 Oscar Meyer Flatbread($0.25)

  • 1 Smithfield bacon($0.84)

I paid $25.20 and saved $30.46!! Everything I bought I used a coupon that could triple...I really wish I could have done better. Maybe after Sunday's paper, I'll be able to get a few more things free or really cheap. There wasn't a lot of people there but everyone that was there was flipping through their coupons just like me.

Interesting blog

I found something today that I had to repost. I don't usually post things for how to and stuff but this was awesome. Kristin, from Couponing to Disney, complied a list of companies that if you e-mail, they would send you coupons and free products. It's pretty awesome right?! Click here to check it out.

My recent savings

At Kroger, I bought 2 danimals yogurt drinks($0.49each), 1 dannon yogurt cups($0.49), 6 Ore-Ida fries($1.32 each), 1 TGI Fridays skillet meals($3.49), 1 Febreeze Noticables(FREE), 1 Dawn foam soap($0.99), and 1 Mega pack Luvs diapers( $7.79). I paid $23.65 and saved $36.00!!

At Target, they are running a special, if you buy 2 Kebbler Chips Deluxe, you get one free. They have them on sale for $2 each. Online you get print a target coupon($1 off 2) and a printable coupon($1.50 off 2). You should print 3 target coupons and 3 printable ones and you can get 6 packs of cookies for $0.50. I was only able to print 3 target and 2 printable ones so I paid $2 for 6 packs. Anyways, I also bought 2 Super Mega packs of Huggies diapers(on sale for $16.99 each w/$4 off 2 coupon) and got a $5 giftcard. My total there was $32.07 and saved $11. I turned around and used that giftcard for my cookies and Dr. Pepper. That total was $4.16 and saved $16.50 and I still have $0.84 left on my giftcard. So in total I spent $32.07 and saved $27.50!!

At Food Lion, they had their Earth's Best BOGOF, so I bought 10 jars($0.34 each), 3 jars of Gerber food($0.23 each), 1 dozen large eggs(FREE), 1 hotdog buns($0.13), 1 hamburger buns($0.14), and 1 shredded cheese($1.79). I paid $6.85 and saved $9.48!!
I have already taken advantage of the free eggs several times...I think I have got 3 dozen eggs free so far and I"m thinking about going back today for one more. And my freezer is stocked with hamburger and hotdog buns...I couldn't help it..$0.27 for both!!

At Publix, I bought 2 HUGE bags of Wonka mixups($3.49 each), 2 All detergent($1.99 each), 1 Doritos($2), 1 Post Honey Bunches of Oats(FREE), 1 DeerPark Aquapod water($1), 5 Kid Cuisines($0.79 each), 30 jars of Beech-Nut baby food($0.23 each), and 4 pack of Publix toilet paper(penny item). I paid $26.76 and saved $48.06!!

Earth Fare

After reading a blog post on my cousin-in-law page http://whataprilsaves.blogspot.com/2009/10/five-free-items-pantry-makeover-from.html , I decided to raid my pantry and fridge to see what I had. I found a jar of JIF peanut butter that was literally empty( I don't even know why it was in the pantry, it was that empty!), a half empty bottle of Kraft Catalina dressing that was out of date in the fridge, a half drunken bottle of Sierra Mist that I got free yesterday at Food Lion that I didn't like too much, and a box of Publix cereal that I got as a penny item a while back. I took all these items to Earth Fare and got the Earth Fare brands FREE. They gave me a receipt for the items and my total savings was $11.02 so had I bought these items it would have cost me that much. But instead I get to try these items for free. How awesome?!! So, THANKS SO MUCH APRIL!!!
